BT Trip- British Science Week
We had a superb day at BT celebrating British Science Week, focusing on technology. Along with 8 other schools, we undertook four workshops, supported by BT staff.
Firstly, we worked in pairs and then a team to undertake challenges to programme the Edison robot. Using block coding, we were able to make the Edisons move around a track, including turning corners.
Next, we explored the micro:bits, using them to create and send messages, as well as display icons, numbers and words.
After lunch, we focused on cybersecurity, creating encrypted messages using a Caesar Cipher before looking at the different types of satellites.
Lastly, we explored the BT Showcases, interactively finding out about different technology used in various settings, such as hospitals, homes and shops. We also played the Alien attack game in the immersive room, equalling the highest total ever scored!
A fantastic day was had by all!
